Name Variation Nathaniel Bailey was possibly also known as Nathaniel Belly.2 
Birth*He was born between 1781 and 1783 at New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York. Some digits on Nathaniel's tombstone are now corroded, and it is unclear if it says 61, 64, or 67 years old at death. The Ulster County Archives gives his age at death as 67, resulting in a birth year of c1781, but Old Gravestones of Ulster County (Riverside Cemetery, Marlborough), written by William J. Poucher in 1931 when the stones were not as worn, reported the engraving as May 11, 1848, age 64-7-27, resulting in a birthdate of 14 Sept 1783.1,7,8,9,4,10 
NoteDonna Beers' history "Nicholas, John, & Elias Bailey of New York" gives Nathaniel's parents as John Bailey (also buried in Marlborough) and Magdalane Coutant. A/o March 2007, one IGI record shows a marriage between Magdalene Coutant and John Bally in in 1777 Marlborough, Ulster County, both said to be "of Marlborough."

The adults would have been Nathaniel himself and probably Harriet, his wife. I have not identified the children, the eldest of whom was probably too old too have been one of their children.17

The unidentifed female may have been Nathaniel and Harriets' purported daughter Laura or some other relative or friend living with them.44
