Name Variation Abigail Loveless was also known as Abagail or Abigal Loveless, Bloomer and Pierce or Pearce.6,5

Notes*In 1865, Abigail Loveless reported to the census taker that she had been married three times and had had seven children. One of the first two husbands (probably the second) was Isaac T. Bloomer, father of our Elizabeth Bloomer Bailey. I have listed below the three people I have reasonable certainty were their children (although see the next note for other possibilities). The last husband was apparently named Pierce or Pearce, whose name Abigail carried at the time of the 1850 census, although Isaac had died just the previous year.3,1
Birth*Abigail was born circa 1786 in either Putnam County, NY or Newburgh, Orange County, NY.1,2,3,4,5,7,6
Birth of SonHer son Augustus Bloomer was born circa 1812 at Marlborough, Ulster County, New York.8,9,10
Marriage*She married Isaac T. Bloomer, son of Reuben Bloomer and Nancy Teed, circa 1814 at New York.5,7,6,11
Birth of SonHer son Edgar I. Bloomer was born circa 1814 at New York.7,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19
Birth of DaughterHer daughter Laura Bloomer was born between 1814 and 1820 at Orange County, New York.8,20,4,7,21
Note*Abigail and Isaac entered into a mortgage with Samuel Drake on 10 May 1816 at Marlborough, Ulster County, New York, where they lived.22
Birth of DaughterHer daughter Elizabeth Bloomer was born on 22 May 1822 at Marlborough, Ulster County, New York.1,23,2,3,24,4,25,26,27,5,28,29
(Widow) DeathAbigail was widowed when Isaac T. Bloomer died on 9 February 1849 Marlborough, Ulster County, New York, of consumption.6,30,31
(Widow) DeathShe was widowed when (?) Pierce died before 1850.
Marriage*She married (?) Pierce before 1850.1,2,4

Burial*She is not listed in Riverside Cemetery, Marlborough, where many other family members are buried.26
Notes*Howard L. Bailey had notes which indicated a possible son James and a possible son or grandson Jasper. Edgar Bloomer, who was apparently one of Issac and Abigail's children, did have a son named Jasper. I have not yet identified any other Jasper Bloomer. Robert J. Bloomer, who has done extensive research on this family, reports that an Abagail Pearce applied for and filed probate information in Ulster County in 1852. He believes that Isaac and Abigail had five children and shows them as follows (for additional information on Robert's research see Pedigree Resource File DVD 128 [©2006]):
--Charles Augustus (1812- , married three times, five children, death in Marlborough). [NOTE that Elizabeth Bloomer Bailey and James W. Bailey named one of their children, an ancestor of ours, Charles Augustus Bailey. Also, notice that his birthdate is given as prior to Isaac and Abigail's marriage date, so he may have been a son of Isaac and Nelly.]
--Edgar (1814-1895, married twice, 6 children, including Jasper Drake [who may be the Jasper mentioned in the Bailey family notes], death in Wilton, CT)
--William (1816-1881, possible child to Isaac and Abigail, married once, eight children, death in NYC)
--Elizabeth (m. James W. Bailey) - [This is our ancestral line. See link to Elizabeth in list of children below.]
--Laura (m. Jeremiah Elliott). [Laura Eliot and her son Howard were living with Charles Augustus Bloomer in 1850, and Laura was living with James W. and Elizabeth Bloomer Bailey and Abigail Loveless Bloomer Pierce in 1865]
