7155. Charles Doty, son Solomon Doty and Rachel Doty, b. Clinton, Dutchess Co., N.Y., 1789; m. Margaret Montross. In his early years he was a seaman, but afterwards a farmer and carried his produce to New York by sloop. About 1836, he removed to Croton Landing, N.Y. He was run over by a locomotive at the New Haven R.R. depot in New York City, and killed, 1869. She d. Huguenot, Richmond Co., N.Y., 1868.

He had been living with Samuel since the death of his wife. His obituary states that he was survived by three sons, Samuel Colt Doty, Alfred E. Doty and Harrison E. Doty, 9 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.7 
Funeral*His funeral was held at 408 Prospect Avenue, Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, on 9 May 1905, and officiated at by Rev. D. W. Howell, pastor of the North Methodist Church.7
