Note*Cinderella's name was supplied by Hattie Parmalee Smith, one of William L. Parmalee's daughters and therefore Cinderella's granddaughter, and is quoted in data collected by Dorothy Hubbell Smallwood, a Parmelee researcher and author of the periodical "Parmelee data" (1940+). The only Cinderella Parmalee (including variants of either name) found in any U.S. federal census enumerations are those given below. The rest of the information given here assumes that Hattie was correct about her grandmother's name and that the rarity of the name is an indicator that the various clues tie together. This includes the 1850 census, when Cinderella was shown as a neighbor of William's in Brooklyn, NY. I have also made the assumption that the young people with her in that year were her children, but they may have been a mix of children and grandchildren. I have not yet found primary documentation that William was Cinderella's son. There is a decent possibility that Cinderella is the Cyndarilla Chatfield who married Loren B. Parmalee in Killingworth, CT, in 1818.2,5
Birth*Cinderella (?) was born circa 3 August 1795 at Connecticut.4,3,6

Birth of DaughterHer daughter Sarah E. Parmalee was born circa 1835 at New York.4
Birth of DaughterHer daughter Martha J. Parmalee was born circa 1838 at New York.4
(Widow) DeathShe was probably widowed between 1840 and 1850 when (?) Parmalee apparently died.
Census1850FedUS*She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Brookyn, Kings County, New York, enumerated 3 September 1850.. William L. Parmalee and his family lived in the same building.4
