Ruth M. Haughey, 97, formerly of Newark and Southampton, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Care One Rehabilitation Center in Evesham.

Born May 14, 1920 in Jersey City, she was the daughter of the late William and Nora (Dugan) Haughey. Ruth was the sister of the late Mary Bryan (husband John) with whom she lived most of hr adult life, Nora Mills, Violet Maher, William, Charles, Tom and James Haughey.

Ruth is survivied by her niece, Maryann Bailey and husband Marvin of New Jersey; nephew William Maher and wife Elizabeth of Massachusetts, and 8 great nieces, 6 great nephews, and 14 great, great nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by nephew John Brian and Nephew-in-law Anthony Fiordaliso (spouse Maryann), nieces Violet Maher and Patricia Ansbro, great niece Joanne Fiordaliso, and great nephew Michael Acquilina.

Ruth worked at Prentice-Hall Publishing Company in Englewood Cliffs for 43 years until she retired. Ruth began working in the mailroom and advanced to Executive Vice President, during a time when women rarelky achieved that level. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Fairleigh Dicknson University while working full-time. Ruth also worked as an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson......

Relatives and friends are invoited to attend a viwing at the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 Us [sic] Hwy 206, Hillsborough, NJ 08844, on Thursday, July 27..... A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Mary Mother of God Catholic CHurch, 157 S. Triangle Road, Hillsborough...on Friday, July 28, at 10 AM.
