Birth*Margaret Haughey was born on 5 May 1871 at Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey.1,2,3,4,6,5
BaptismShe was baptized on 2 July 1871 at First Presbyterian Church, Union City, Hudson County, New Jersey.3
(with Parents) Census1880FedUSShe appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of New York City, New York County, New York, in the household of her parents, James Haughey and Maria Mills.1
(Witness) ReligionOn 7 February 1889, Margaret Haughey was admitted by certificate into the 5th Avenue Presbyterian Church, New York City, New York County, New York, along with her mother Maria Mills and siblings Eliza, Violet, and James. (Maria, Eliza and Violet had previously been admitted in 1884.)7
Marriage*She married Robert Clemens Jr., son of Robert Clemens and Eliza Findlay, on 7 May 1894 at Chapel of Zion and St. Timothy, Manhattan, New York County, New York. Margaret's brother James Egbert Haughey and a woman named Emma Clement, who may have been Robert's sister, signed as witnesses.8,6,5
Birth of SonHer son Robert Clemens was born on 18 August 1895 at Manhattan, New York County, New York.9

Birth of SonHer son Frank Clemens was born in December 1906 at Hoboken, Hudson County, New Jersey.20,23,10,24
Death*She apparently died between 1907 and 1910. The family splintered some time before the 1910 census, with the youngest children boarding with a family in West Hoboken, New Jersey, and, possibly, four other children living at the Orange Home (orphanage) outside of Hatboro, PA (enumerated in Upper Moreland, PA). Robert has been identified as living with his parents that year, although I've been unable to verify this, but he apparently married again in 1912 (to Margaret McNerney) and by the 1920 enumeration they had added several more children. Margaret Haughey is not found in the 1910 census, and the assumption is that she died between the year son Frank was born (1907) and early 1910. Information about the second marriage was made available by a great-great-granddaughter of Robert and the second Margaret.20
